Create a trustworthy source of facts
Identify where material, measurements, care instructions and variant information are maintained. A copy brief should point to those records. When a fact is missing, request it or omit the claim rather than filling the gap with plausible language.
A material percentage does not automatically establish comfort, durability or sustainability. Distinguish the verified attribute from an interpretation or claim that would require separate support.
Answer the item-specific questions
A shopper considering denim may need help with stretch, rise and length. Another item may require a different explanation. Organise the content around the decisions raised by that product instead of forcing every page into identical generic paragraphs.
Keep the product name and key details clear. Use helpful links to size guidance, the parent collection or a relevant guide, and ensure the advice actually fits the item and available variants.
Review the proposed change
Compare the draft with the original product record and brand guidance. Check internal links and avoid duplicating another page’s purpose. A reviewer should be able to see what changed and why it was proposed.
After publication, interpret search and shopping outcomes alongside stock and variant availability. A product that loses its popular sizes may behave differently even if the content improves. Keep that context attached to the review.
A specific denim brief
The brief includes the verified composition, available lengths, actual fit description and source of the measurements. It asks the writer to explain those facts clearly. It does not invent stretch, body-shaping benefits or an environmental claim to make the draft sound stronger.
